The Bluecliff Lady ES is all about stability and comfort. With its higher upper and sturdy sole it’s suitable for a wide range of hiking activities, including lower mountain ranges and longer tours. What sets this model apart? Its high-quality upper is made of nubuck leather and suede leather, which is applied at the heel and toe cap because it’s particularly robust. To help keep feet dry, its classic Derby cut has a facing tab tongue construction. This is further supported by the proprietary PFC-free EcoShell membrane of HANWAG, which is waterproof, breathable and sustainable. The membrane is part of a multi-layer laminate. For the Bluecliff Lady ES, is used a four-layer laminate that guarantees outstanding breathability and high comfort – something that becomes even more important on longer hikes. The fourth layer is an additional layer of insulation, which makes this boot ideal for hiking in autumn and spring. One special element is its Hike Pro outsole. This has a four-millimetre deep tread and extra-large lugs with a wider contact area and a particularly grippy rubber compound. Moreover, the special midsole construction (3D IPU) guarantees a perfect fit and smooth roll off. This is made possible by the combination of stabilising and expanded PU, plus a glass-fibre reinforced polypropylene stabilizer. To fix the foot firmly in place and ensure good heel retention, HANWAG uses high-quality, long-lasting metal eyelets and hooks that require no rivets, plus 2-Zone Lacing with clamping lace hooks.
