MORE SECURITY IN WINTER

OPTIMAL GRIP ON BLACK ICE THANKS TO FINE GLASS PARTICLES

The Hanwag IceGrip sole has proved itself as a tried-and-tested winter classic since it was launched over ten years ago. The secret behind it are the microscopically small glass particles in the tread blocks that literally claw into the surface of the ice to provide better slip-resistance. The effect is similar to sand paper. In recent years, we have continued to develop it further and the Hanwag IceGrip sole is now available in a number of different versions.

The SATRA PM144 test shows that: The higher the figure, the greater the grip on the different surfaces. 1.00 would be 1G, i.e. exactly the same amount of traction as there is vertical pressure (weight) on the sole.
