BACK FOR GOOD

ROTPUNKT LOW GTX

The Rotpunkt Low GTX celebrates its comeback. In the early 1980s, we were one of the first brands to introduce sport climbing shoes to the market. Inspired by the redpoint spirit and legendary designs of the era, the Rotpunkt Low GTX combines heritage vibes with functional details. Already once in the collection, the popular model is now back in a new version. BACK FOR GOOD!

The HANWAG Rotpunkt Low GTX combines outstanding outdoor and approach functionality with retro styling that also works well on the streets of Berlin, Paris or New York. Its robust leather and Cordura upper, lightweight outsole with optimum grip and waterproof, breathable GORE-TEX membrane make it ideal for both.

THE STORY

All our Rotpunkt shoes take their name from the redpoint style of climbing invented by the Nuremberg pioneer Kurt Albert. The outstanding climber started marking routes that could be free climbed with a red dot (Rotpunkt). “It was a pretty wild scene,” says Sepp Gschwendtner – another top German climber at the time and HANWAG friend - in an interview looking back at climbing in the 1970s and 1980s.
